How much does social media (and even in-person social relationships) influence your life? Probably a lot more than you think! Sadie Robertson Huff poses the challenge of “Who Are You Following?” in her new book and guided journal to get us thinking of how social media impacts our daily lives. Are we seeking Jesus and his approval, or are we seeking fame and the approval of our followers? Naturally, we are all going to answer: “I am seeking Jesus, of course! Social media doesn’t mean that much to me!”
Throughout the book and guided journal, Sadie gives examples in her own life of social media is a “snapshot” of real life, often the best photos possible. Sadie carefully outlines how damaging this is to our mental and spiritual health.
What I really liked about the book is how real Sadie is. She constantly gives examples of these lessons she’s learned through her own experiences. She is also very honest about how her own failings when using social media.
Something else I really enjoyed was the opportunities throughout the guided journal to challenge myself and my use of social media. There are plenty of blanks and lots of great questions to get you on the right track and be more aware of who we follow and why.
The points made in both the book and the guided journal are backed up with scripture to help guide us and give us a firm foundation, not just Sadie’s own words.
I highly recommend Who Are You Following? by Sadie Robertson Huff, and the Who Are You Following? Guided Journal to my followers. For more information or to purchase directly from Sadie’s website CLICK HERE.
