I Love You Just Because
by Donna Keith
This is a sweet story featuring a family of bears. While anatomically incorrect, with each cub being a different type of bear, we see the parallels in a family – each child is different – and that should be celebrated. Parents are different too and they love their children in ways that may not be obvious at first. Each page gives examples of why moms and dads love their kids along with a Bible verse. The illustrations are nice and not overpowering.
The story is a little long and my younger two (4 and 2) were bored about halfway through. Overall, I give it four stars because, white cute and sweet I Love You Just Because didn’t elicit a reaction from my kids beyond “it was okay” and they haven’t asked me to read it again. I will still pull it out occasionally because of the biblically-centered theme and of course I love my kids and want to remind them beyond just those words.
I received a copy of I Love You Just Because to read with my kids and give my honest review.
